A Little About Myself

A lot of you may have met me but didn’t know that I’m a Driving Instructor.

I have lived in the hills since I was 5 years old when my parents bought the Shell Service Station in Gidgegannup (now known as the Gidge Bakery). I went on the school bus every day to Mt Helena Primary and then Eastern Hills Senior High so I have never really moved very far out of the area.

I now live in Glen Forrest with my husband, Steve, and have 2 children who also attended Eastern Hills Senior High, but who have now both finished school. I have taught a lot of their friends to drive and regularly go back to EHSHS to pick up new students, along with those from Helena College, Mundaring Christian, Swan Christian and LaSalle.

A lot of you may have already met me through the canteen at Eastern Hills Netball Assoc which my husband and I ran for 6 years. Last season we decided was our last because our girls only play during the early game now and the youngest one then stays to umpire a couple of games throughout the day.

I have been the uniform co-ordinator and P&C president at Glen Forrest Primary, the President of Glen Forrest Netball Club, the Secretary of Eastern Hills Netball and the Treasurer of the EHSHS District Band, but now that my girls have grown I have decided it is time to have my weekends back and concentrate on my own Driving School.

I started with Axis Driving school in about 2013 when my eldest daughter started to learn to drive and when I found that I was better at it than my husband, so I was the one teaching her when he yelled at her too much.

Since 2013 I have taught a lot of local kids to drive and am proud of each and every one when they reach their goal of getting the driver’s license. I started teaching manual driving lessons, but progressed to teaching auto driving lessons as well when my youngest daughter learnt to drive and we needed another car for her to use on occasion. You will still see her in the automatic car on occasion, so if you see an Eastern Hills Driving School with a green P plate, don’t panic she’s not giving lessons, just using my petrol instead of her own.

That’s a bit about me I hope I didn’t bore you too much. Look forward to meeting some of you soon

Anne 🙂
