The Year that Was

Well that’s just about a wrap from us for the year (Barbara still has a few days of work left). What a big year it has been with a total of 1168 lessons given and 95 tests taken (not including the ones where our students decided to take their own cars). We celebrated Barbara’s one year anniversary with a great company BBQ (which only really consists of 4 people). Barbara bought a new car and switched to automatic. We both had a month off due to Covid during which time Anne raised 6 puppies and somehow ended up keeping 1 of them. So with that we will garage our cars, give them a few little repairs and a good detail ready to spring into action in 2021

Merry Christmas and Best wishes for the new year to all of our students, parents and facebook followers

Coming Soon

With the continued increase in our students doing Automatic Driving Lessons Barbara has taken the plunge and bought herself a new Hyundai i30. Barbara will be transitioning out of her Manual Driving Lesson Hyundai Getz to a new, more modern vehicle to cope with the growing demand.

Keep your eye on our website because the new lessons will be coming soon, she is just waiting on the installation of her dual controls.

Amazing Review

I couldn’t help but share this wonderful review that was left for me this week. Susha has been a joy to teach and I will miss our chats in the car. I wish her all the best with her  move overseas, I don’t think I would ever have the courage to change countries as she seems to do with ease and no fear. Good luck with your new online business and enjoy the sun.

Review – “Anne is the most patient, nice, funny & straight to the point driving instructor. I have learnt with her how to drive basically from scratch (and I am 29). And she was ever so patient with me when I was doing maddest mistakes over and over again 🙂 She would always explain very clearly why I should be doing this or that on the road, in a way that it would finally make sense in my head & I just knew exactly what I’m doing.

She is an extremely nice person to be around, she always made me feel at ease (which is very important when you’re only learning how to drive).

Without Anne’s lessons I would not have been able to get my licence.

I recommend her to everyone who needs to learn to drive quick.

Thank you ❤️”

School Holiday update

What an absolutely crazy couple of weeks it has been. I can’t believe how many students we have had and how many kilometers we must have travelled. Some schools have another week off so we are still pretty smashed with bookings, although Barbara does still have some vacancies for manual lessons. Hopefully if you are looking to book a lesson you will find some space after all the schools are back and some normality returns.

Congratulations this week must also go to Susha who passed her test just in time because she is moving overseas next month and Adam who passed his test in York this week.

Big Week for PDA’s

It was another big week for us and our students at Eastern Hills Driving School. We had 2 first time passes and 2 others who had a couple of attempts before they were successful. Congratulations to Chloe, Lizzie, Reagan and Harry for all passing their PDA’s it was a great result with 3 of the passes coming at Midland and 1 in Toodyay (not an easy place to pass in a manual given all of the hill starts you have to complete).

We wish you all the best and hope that you enjoy your new found freedom and hope that you all drive safely and remember all of the things you were taught during your lessons.

Good Luck

Back from Corona

It’s been a while, but from 11 May 2020 both Barbara and Anne will be back at work teaching all of our wonderful students and hopefully many new ones to come.  We still haven’t received notification from the Department of Transport as to when non essential driving tests will recommence, but we will let you know as soon as we are told.

So over the weekend we will give our cars a bit of love, pull out our uniforms and put away our isolation hobbies and be ready for a fresh new start on Monday morning.

We will continue our pre shut down procedure of wiping down the vehicle between each lesson and ask that all students wash or sanitise their hands just before their lesson. We also ask that if you have any flu like symptoms or a temperature please call or text us and cancel your lesson as we will be doing our best to keep you all safe and well.

See you all from Monday onwards

The week that was

As saddened as we have both been that we have had to stop teaching for the time being at least our last week ended on a high with 3 friends from Swan Christian all passing their PDA’s. Congratulations to Jacob, Sha and Trinity for all passing (2 of you on your first attempt).  Sha and Jacob managed to scrape in with a couple of the last tests which we were able to access in Northam and York  and Trinity got one of the last available ones at Midland.

For the time being PDA’s have been postponed/prioritised by the Department of Transport and only locals will be able to access the last couple being held in Northam and Toodyay next week.

If you are a volunteer firefighter or a front line worker you will have priority for the few remaining assessors who are still working, but as of Monday morning there was only 1 assessor willing to do C class licences in Midland.

Big Start to the week

It’s been a busy week and it’s only Tuesday

Monday – 5.45 am fill up with fuel and find I’ve got a flat tyre. Quick call to Steve and leave the car at my first lesson for him to repair the puncture while I take Ren for a lesson in his Mum’s car before his 7.05am test. Well done Ren for passing your test first time in Midland.

Then off to Northam with Amy well done to her on passing her test on her first attempt.

Tuesday – Had a feeling I had a puncture in the other car so had pumped up the tyre the night before. Off to servo with Steve at 6.45 to discover yes I did so out comes his trusty repair kit again while I go and get coffee (thank goodness Robyn is back with her coffee van.

3 lessons down then back to Northam with Lochie and another first attempt pass. It was a rocky start, but he pulled himself together and got through. I’ve never seen someone so happy and seen so many snapchat messages come through on the way home (lucky I was driving)

All in all not a bad result so far this week

2 x punctures 3 x PDA passes

Roll on Wednesday

HAPPY NEW YEAR

Wishing everyone a very Happy and Safe New Year. We will be back to normal working hours from 6 January 2020 refreshed from, in my case a 3 week break, and in Barbara’s a quick mini break this week.

We look forward to working with, not only our current students, but all of the ones we are yet to meet and helping them in achieving their first taste of independence with their Driver’s License.

See you all when we are back on the road next Monday
